Less Waste Skin & Hair Care

Beauty and personal care doesn’t have to wasteful, there are more sustainable solutions out there you just need to know what to look for. Here are some less waste swaps you can use in your personal care routine.

Cotton Facial Rounds

I purchased these pure cotton rounds years ago and they are still working great. I use these in place of cotton balls or disposable cotton rounds. The ones I use are no longer available for purchase so these rounds from the Package Free Shop are a perfect solution if you want to this less waste option.

Here are a couple options for lotion. I personally use the Plaine Products lotion and love it. The mint has such a refreshing smell and when I’m done with the bottle I ship it back to be used again.

If you are open to moisterizing bars, Ethique has a few options you can pick from. I have not tried lotion bars so I can’t review them but if you are open to the idea give it a whirl.

Hair Ties

I love these hair ties from Kooshoo. Plastic free and biodegradable, they are earth friendly while keeping your hair off your face. I use these when I workout or feel like throwing my hair back.

Combs and Brushes

Not that long ago my plastic comb broke so I was in need of a new comb. So I purchased this wooden one from the Package Free Stop. It has worked well so far and I know it won’t add to a landfill. I have been able to keep my plastic brush clean and still works well but the Package Free Shop has a nice looking wooden brush as well.
