Less Waste Free Resource: Freecycle

Be honest, you like getting something free as much as the next person. So why are you spending money on something you could get for free? If you are not already familiar with Freecycle, come along and take a digital tour with me.

Freecycle is a non-profit run by volunteers offering a place for you to see free items in your area. You can also post items you no longer wish to own. A win-win for all! You can see the full details in their intro.

To find an area near you, do a search for your location and then sign up for a login. Once you have a login you can see what is available in your area to save on your account.

Items up for grabs are labeled as “offers” and if you have a need for something you can create a “wanted” post. The site is setup as a forum so you can interact with others.

Common items I see are boxes for moving, furniture, appliances and equipment. So the next time you need something or are thinking of getting rid of something see what Freecycle.org can do for you!
